Abstract

This thesis presents the methods and recommendations for teaching geography to a very important and sometimes neglected group of students and those are students with disabilities. Integration is a process that will include these students in regular educational system, and it reduces segregation. There are many requirements that should be satisfied for integration of students with disabilities into regular classes to be successful. Important element of successful integration are teachers whose main task is to help students with disabilities to realize their potential and achieve educational goals and accomplishments according to their abilities. In accordance with their abilities, specific difficulties and personal approach it is necessary to adapt the teaching process with many technical adjustments, using various teaching aids and a combination of various methods.
