The conducted analysis confirmed the unfavorable assumptions about population structure and negative demographic processes in the region. Negative demographic trends have been confirmed and the first results of the census 2011., so it is not likely that the Imotski region flourish without serious government support. Comparing the demographic characteristics of Imotski in comparison to other rural settlements is reached the following conclusions:processes of emigration, deruralization and population decline have resulted in all the settlements, with the processes to a lesser extent expressed in Imotski, and much more in rural areas and among them, although there are some differences.
