Abstract

The paper deals with the recent changes in beach surfaces in the bays of Rašćine and Devet soba in Omiš littoral, and in the bay of Kašjuni in city of Split area. The main natural factors of their formation have been presented and anthropogenic infuences that have disturbed their natural evolution have also been analyzed. The construction of coastal structures, as well as the uncontrolled disposal of material in coastal area has caused erosion and progradation of few beach sectores in Omiš littoral. Anthropogenically constructed beach in the bay of Kašjuni is not found in the state of eqilibrium and few of its sectores are constantly being eroded. Beach in the bay of Kašjuni fomed by erosion of flysch terrains on the slopes of Marjan has not been significally affected by the antropogenic infulences and is apparently in the state of eqilibrium.
