Abstract

In this work is described geostrategic position of Srđ is during Serbian aggression, taking into account historical and geographical approaches and research methods. Because of immense geostrategic position Srđ had important role in fortification system of Dubrovnik in all historical periods, beginning with time of Napolean European conquests when numerous fortification forts were built among which are forts Delgourge, Strinčjera and Imperial on Srđ. Defense line of Dubrovnik on the stretch Brgat-Žarkovica, Bosanka-Srđ was repeated in time of Croatian war of independence 1991/1992. when from this positions, during Serbo-Montenegrian aggression, were led military operations for capturing of Dubrovnik and when many areas were significally destroyed and forts on Srđ once again served as exceptional strategic positions that also endured heavy destructions.
