Abstract

Already in the 19th century Dubrovnik began to attract many tourists with its natural and cultural heritage. From then until now the city has experienced numerous changes in its functional-spatial, socio-spatial and morphological structure. This work analyzes and interprets the effects of tourism on changes in population size and structure, intra-city migration, land-use change, geographical distribution of living and business areas and the morphology of the town. Furthermore, the work also tries to determine the future impacts of the touristic development on the city environment.
