Abstract

This thesis explains and analyzes the quality of life of ethnic groups in South Africa and the historical-geographical background which influenced the origin of the analyzed differences. Most comprehensive source of data are the results of the Census held in 2011 in South Africa. The conclusions are based on the correlation between the selected indicators of development (economic status, educational structure, utility equipment, the quality and equipment of residential units) with the ethnic structure and then on their GIS analysis, which gave them a spatial dimension. Distinct differentiation of the quality of life of ethnic groups have been proven in all aspects, and development models that would reduce the mentioned difference have been proposed.
