Abstract

The characteristics of demographic development of Peljesac peninsula during 20th century are more similar to the characteristics of insular development than to the coastal one, the one that Peljesac with his geographical feature actually belongs. In the nodal–functional prospect the peninsula is peripherally laid inside the Republic of Croatia, still it should emphasise that the peninsula keeps the central position within the Adriatic pool. In this thesis we elaborate a demo-geographic analysis of the peninsula of Peljesac during the period from 1991 till nowadays and we establish the demo-geographical changes within the period of analysis. The complete movement of the population with its components will be comprised with this analysis as well as the changes within the selected structures of society.
