Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to examine the basic demographic processes and structures and to evaluate whether there is a demographic potential for revitalization in the region of Poţega. Selected demographic variables and indicators are used in analysis of depopulation, ageing and substitution of population that confirmed hypothesis of the spatial disparity of region on two sectors; mountain frame with negative demographic trends and centar space of Poţega basin where is still present demographic potential for revitalization. In the end of the study there are some suggested models and measures of demographic revitalization and correlation between population development and socio-economic conditions, e.g. demographic assumptions of economic development.
