Abstract

Youth tourism is one of the selective forms of tourism that has very intensiv development in recent years. Young tourists once represented the marginalized segment of the tourism market, unlike today when they have an increasingly important role in the global tourism market. Tourist movements of a young people are increasing rappidly and they have bigger contribution in the total international tourist movements every year. In line with global trends, youth tourism is developed in Croatia, especially in the largest and capital city of Zagreb. Zagreb, thanks to its favorable geographical position, is becoming more attractive destination for young tourists, whose style is characterized by dynamic travel, changing destinations often and fast. Because of increasing number of tourists of certain profile in Zagreb, in this case young tourists, Zagreb needs to create a special touristic offer based on their needs. By changing the touristic offer of the town, Zagreb changes its appearance, functional and socio-economic characteristics.
