Abstract

Past natural resources management in Blato municipality was characterized by the non-systematic planning and the lack of any form of systematic managements. This results in unfavourable spatial processes, such as the apartment-overbuilding along the shoreline, forest degradation, decrease in soil quality, excessive exploitation of limited water resources and neglecting renewable energy sources. In this paper, we showed the possibilities of using natural resources while taking local characteristics into account, with the aim of achieving optimal natural resources management. We took into consideration and analyzed the possibility of using forest biomass and pomace for compost production and energy production, the relation between the nature of aquifers and water needs in this area, the possibilities of using renewable energy sources and the sustainable use of space through integration of tourism with agriculture.
