Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the phylogenetic relations among selected species within the tribe Alysseae (Brassicaceae). Nuclear ITS regions of 30 species were analysed. The Maximum parsimony method was used for phylogenetic analysis. Derived phylogenetic tree supported the view according to which the genus Alyssum is a polyphyletic genus composed of two separate evolutionary lines. After the phylogenetic analysis as separate evolutionary line seceded the species: Lobularia maritima, Farsetia aegyptica i Morettia philaena. The position of the Hormatophylla spinosa species on the phylogenetic tree suggested a separate taxonomical status of this genus from the genus Alyssum. Analyzed samples of species from Aurinia genus confirmed the separation of this genus from the genus Alyssum, it is also confirmed the separtion of genus Galitzkya from the genus Berteroa. The monophyletic status of the genus Fibigia is questionable since two studied species (F. triquetra and F. clypeata) were separated in two clades. For complete resolution of the taxonomical problem of this genus additional studies are necessary.
