Zooplankton dynamics in the Lake Vrana was investigated during in the period from May to November 2008, in 4 stations. Water samples for physico-chemical analysis were taken on depths of 0,5 m below surface with a 5-l Ruttner hydrobiological bottle. Plankton was sampled by plankton net with a mesh size of 50 μm. Ten litres of water was filtered and preserved in 80% ethanol (final concentration). The plankton crustaceans were counted in a round glass Petri dish under an Opton microscope. The entire volume of each sample was counted. For determination standard taxonomic literature was used. Analysis of physico-chemical parameters confirmed small differences between stations. Due to these defferences macrozooplankton abundance was higher in stations with tipical lacustrine environment while in more extreme environment the abundance was decreasing. Copepods dominated over cladocerans. Calanoida were more numerous than Cyclopoida.
