Abstract

During vegetation season 2010, pollen analysis has been carried out for 45 taxa of gymnosperms of the Botanical Garden in Zagreb. Palynological collection has been made and by use of light microscope, pollen analysis has been completed for divisions Coniferophyta, Ginkgophyta and Gnetophyta. It has been ratified that there are three polen types for studied gymnosperms: inaperturate, saccate and sulcate. Ginkgo biloba (division Ginkgophyta) has sulcate polen, while pollen of Ephedra major (division Gnetophyta) is inapertureate and plicate. Families Pinaceae and Podocarpaceae (division Coniferophyta) have saccate pollen, while families Taxodiaceae, Cupressaceae, Cephalotaxaceae and Taxaceae (division Coniferophyta) have inaperturate pollen.
