Abstract

This graduation thesis is a result of research of butterfly fauna of Križevci and it's surroundings that was carried out from 2008 to 2010. The researches were done on five localities: Ratarna, Čabraji, Kalnik, Lipovčica 1 and Lipovčica 2. The main objective was to explore butterfly fauna, and to analyse faunistical and biogeographical characteristics. Butterflies were collected from April to September, using entomological net, pinned and classified by standard determination keys. After field and laboratory work, and fauna analysis, 58 species belonging in seven families were found. By comparing the researched localities we can see that Kalnik and Ratarna have the most similar fauna (72,5%) and Lipovčica 1 and Lipovčica 2 have the least similar fauna (44,8%). Biogeographical analysis shows that eurosiberian species are the most frequent ones (75,9%). A comparison was made between the lepidopterous fauna found in northern Moslavina, Učka, Ćićarija, Ozalj and Ţupanja, with similarity rates of 80,3%, 64%, 48,5%, 61,6% and 76%. More extensive and more thoroughly researches should be made in this area.
