Abstract

We were investigating the effect of hypertermic chemoimunnotherapy on immune parameters in mice bearing Erlich ascites tumor by observing hematological and immune determinants in Swiss albino mice on the 3rd, 10th, and 17th day after inoculation of EAT cells into peritoneal cavity of the mice. We were monitoring the total number of leucocytes, polymorphonuclear leucocytes, mononuclear leucocytes, the total number of erythrocites, the concentration of hemoglobyn, hematokrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC and the total number of trombocytes. Mice were preventively treated i.p. by water – soluble derivative of propolis (WSDP) at the dose of 50 mg kg-1 on the 7th and 3rd day before i.p. EAT cells inoculation. Chemotherapy (37oC)and hypothermical chemotherapy (43oC ) with cisplatin at the doses of 5 and 10 mg kg-1 were given on the third day after the tumor cell inoculation into peritoneal cavity of mice. The analysis of the results has led us to the conclusion that the combination of WSDP with chemotherapeutics could increase the antitumor potential of chemoterapeutic agents which suggests the benefits of potential clinical use in order to maximize immunity of organism and minimize harmful effects of chemoterapeutic agents on normal cells and tissues.
