Abstract

Great Cormorant is resident bird in Croatia. Croatia also provides wintering area for Great Cormorant's population which arrive from the northern lathitudes. According to data of the Institute of Ornithology at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the total number of 89 Great Cormorants recoveries having Croatian ring were recorded in Croatia and elsewhere in period from 1966. to 2007. The number of 166 birds ringed by foreign ornithological research centers were recorded in Croatia from 1958. to 2006.
