Abstract

River Sutla valley was developed as a part of Panonian basin in NW part of Croatia. The research of lower part of river Sutla valley from plain of Kumrovec till the firth has been made using analysis, synthesis and the methods of geomorphological mapping. As part of the geomorphological analysis there are discussed morphometric and morphogenetic characteristics of relief. Based on the digital elevation model, raster layers were calculated for the values of elevation, slope angle, aspect and exposure. The dominant morphogenetic processes of the relief formation (structural geomorphological and exogeomorphological) were distinguished. Character of valley is complex. Valley is of a poligenetic origin, which means that in it's modeling fluvial denudation processes and tectonic had the major influence. Relief of Sutla valley was largely modified by human activities. In order to determinate the impact of different land use on intensity of exogeomorphological processes, the analysis of land use was made.
