Abstract

Ants are a large group of insects which live in colonies, which may consist of one or more queens, soldiers and workers. Communication is very well developed and it is a major factor in their successfulnesspertaining the foundation of a colony, finding food or colony defence.A brief description of ant biology, life style and communication are presented. Some different forms of social behaviour of warrior ants, weaver ants, desert ants and honeypot ants are also given.
