Abstract

Croatia is a Mediterranean country with a highly indented coastline and high numbers of islands, cliffs, headlands and peninsulas. A favorable climate, clean sea and preserved seabed, biodiversity and high level of conservation of cultural and natural resources represent attractive for development of nautical turism. Today it is the most promising branch of Croatian tourism which is experiencing intense development past few years. If the development is not managed and controlled all the attractiveness underlying this tourism can be destroyed and nature polluted. Therefore, attempt is to implement sustainable development and to find a compromise between nature conservation and economic growth.
