Abstract

Species of superfamily Hydrobioidea are very minute and often live at very small area, and are vulnerable in means of pollution and degradation of habitat. Therefore, the big question is: are there still living specimens of all species here described? As well, the big question is: are there more species, subspecies, maybe even genera or higher taxonomic categories in Croatia which aren't described? These questions require additional research and appliance of new methods (e.g. molecular methods) in order to work trough taxonomy of these species and discover potential new species or higher taxonomic categories. Final goal of these research should be protection of endangered populations, species or higher taxonomic categories of suprafamily, and legal suppression of devastation their habitat.
