The article deals with five sorts of non-indigenous species found in the Adriatic: Lessepsian migrants, deep-sea fish, fish from the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean, occasional visitors and thermophilic fish. Over the last thirty years the Adriatic has become a confluence of so-called invasive species, as well as a corridor for migrational visitors from the Red sea, who have been adapting on the Mediterranean conditions for more than a century. Temperature changes have a direct influence on the physiological processes of the fish, being ectothermic organisms, on their reproductive strategies, migrations, relations predator-prey, but also on geographical shift of the subtropical and tropic species, some of which dwell in the southern Adriatic, migrating toward northern areas.
