Abstract

Town of Vodice is placed on the downstream part of the hydrogeological catchment Pirovac – Vodice. In the hinterland there are larger water abstraction galleries, while in the town there are many wells, karst springs and submarine springs. In geological structure of terrain is a domination of carbon sediment, limestone and dolomite. Sampling of water based on physicochemical parameters, based on the classification of water according to general ecological functions, shows that 70 % of resoults contain water of the I. class. Laboratory analysis of sampling well water shows the value of physicochemical, chemical parameters as well as water pollutants. The chemical parameters of sampling water show the hydrochemical facies ranges from calcium-bicarbonate (Ca-HCO3) to calcium-magnesium-bicarbonate (CaMg-HCO3). Values of chloride are evidence of exposure to seawater, and groundwater coastal explored well is under a considerable influence by the sea. The impact of agriculture and the use of mineral fertilizers results in higher values of nitrogen compounds in well water samples. A number of other contaminants create pressure on the fresh groundwater.
