Abstract

Based on the collected literature and previous researches, the geological structure and hydrogeological relations of the study area were presented. Hydrochemical analyzes in two different hydrological moments were made: during relatively high and during relatively low levels of groundwater. Hydrochemical analyzes included measuring physico-chemical parameters in situ and laboratory analyzes which showed basic ionic composition of waters and concentrations of indicators of pollution. Spring and surface waters were sampled at 11 locations which were located in the basin area, 3 locations in Vrgoračko polje, 6 in the Baćina lakes area and the remaining two are springs Klokun and Modro oko, which are used for water supply. Analyzes showed that investigated waters have increased concentrations of sulphates. Spring Mindel and lake Crniševo were under the influence of seawater. Analyzes of pollution indicators showed that there has been no pollution, but increase in concentrations of nitrates and phosphates were observed at some stations, compared to previous results. During hydrological maximum increase of concentrations of manganese, iron and copper was observed.
