Abstract

The complex structure of the Slavonian Mountains area is developed due to multiple regional geodynamic events and therefore it’s still interesting for research. The low–grade metamorphic samples studied in this paper are located at western flanks of Mt. Papuk and are characterized by several, well developed foliations. Observation of structural relations and application of various geological analysis’ (such as wholerock and mineral geochemistry, geothermobarometric modelling and classical geothermometry) provided quantitative properties of P–T metamorphic conditions (two metamorphic phases both overlapping 300–360C and 3.1–4.7 kbar). Determined protolith of sampled rocks is pelitic source material originated from felsic igneous rocks of active continental margin.
