Abstract

In order to develop mathematical competences it is very important for the pupils to be active participants in education. They should have an opportunity to reveal validity and their own ideas and annotations together with the other colleagues and the teacher during the math lessons. Moreover, they should be capable of connecting math with the real world and developing their logical conclusion, as well as the solving the problem. They should also develop positive attitude toward math. To provide all these ideas, it is necessary to make a distance from the traditional math lessons. More precisely, the lessons should be directed toward the pupils. The pupil-oriented teaching is best accomplished by different activities of pupils that can help in discovering the validity of mathematics on their own or with the help of the teacher. This paper deals with the fourteen activities which help pupils in discovering some math regularities from the area of geometry. Maybe these activities could help the pupils to change their opinion about math.
