Abstract

Proteomics technology in the research of tumor diseases is used in detection of early stages of disease development, tumor staging and progression, identification of potential targets and biomarkers. Collected proteomics data could direct disease treatment and could have impact on administrated therapy adjusted for every individual patient based on his proteomics profile. Prostate tumor is one of the leading diagnosed malignant disease of men after the age of 50. Proteomics methodology applied in the thesis utilitized for an observation of differential display of prostate tumor disease vs. health disease. Final goal was identification of potential novel biomarkers for better understanding of disease progression and agression. After histopathological determination, proteins from tumor-infected and health prostate tissue were separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by mass spectrometry identification. Presented results and methodology can be used as basis for following population researches.
