The subject of this paper is application of a Bass diffusion model and its version which includes the impact of promotion in tourism. In this study we try to understand the information diffusion about a new product through the promotion and from old to new customers. The paper is more detailed analysis of the existing article named "Information diffusion and new product consumption: A Bass model application to tourism facility management", whose authors are James Po-Hsun Hsiao, Chyi Jaw and Tzung-Cheng Huan. The first chapter describes the need for research using Bass models. The area of the research is a theme park in Taiwan and an innovative festival held there. The second chapter defines the Bass diffusion model and its version that takes into account the impact of promotion. It is given the exact formula of a Bass model and are explained its properties. The modified version which was defined by researchers was here mentioned. In the third chapter we define the mathematical tools that were used in the study. We recall the necessary terms of regression and correlation analysis. The fourth chapter describes the data used in model estimation and the strategy of the research. The research was conducted by setting hypothesis. In the fifth chapter are given the research results from the article, which were analyzed here more detailed. The error found in the article was mentioned here as well. The modified version of the Bass model suggested by the researchers is here defined. Results imply effectiveness of front loaded advertising. The conclusion is given in the sixth chapter. It shows the need for better models that are more realistic.
