Abstract

Labin area is called an area in the eastern part of the Istrian County, which was a part of the former Municipality of Labin until 1993 and by the new administrative-territorial division today it is divided to town of Labin and municipalities Kršan, Pićan, Raša, Sveta Nedelja. Today the population of Labin area is marked by decrease and aging population with certain differences in the direction and intensity of the phenomenon in certain areas. In this paper, among with demographic analysis and analysis of central settlements, also is conducted a survey which examined the perception and attitudes of the population of Labin area about future development, physical resources, development goals, projects and measures. The aim is to identify the potential and spatial development goals of Labin area whose valorization would strengthen the attractiveness and competitiveness of the area.
