Abstract

This paper is an analysis of disposition of the fortifications and objects within the fortification system of the city of Pula as a whole , their arrangement within the defense department and the formation and development of the system in the period of the Austro - Hungarian Empire in order to demonstrate mapping directions distribution and their distribution and definition of military - geographic characteristics of the area. During analysis the software program ArcGIS 9.3 developed by company ESRI has been used.
