Abstract

The research object of the thesis is daily environment and perception of space in the Prečko neighbourhood in Zagreb which offers a view from the „bottom“ – a view held by residents of Prečko regarding their own neighbourhood; satisfaction, evaluation, overall image, the advantages and disadvantages of living in Prečko and it's sense of place. Main research problems were investigated using an online survey method based on a sample of 201 respondents. The results show very high level of satisfaction with Prečko as a place to live and a positive sense of place. Through identification of the advantages and disadvantages of living in Prečko, specific places attributed by certain meanings (e.g. the most ugly or the most beautiful places) and the reasons for it, we have clearly determined desirable directions of further development of Prečko, changes that need to be introduced and elements/places that need to be preserved.
