Main purpose of this Bachelor Thesis is to analise development of rural tourism in Omiš Hinterland, its connection with paradigm of sustainable development, and its possible role in economic and demographic revitalization of that area. Becouse of that, in this thesis, are analised various demographic parameters such as population changes, and parameters which illustrate population composition by age and education. Main purpose of second part of this thesis is, firstly, to analise connection between spatial distribution of turistic apartments and a distance from the seaside; and connection between rural and maritime tourism in that area. At the end of this research it is defined that population changes and copmposition of population by age are not significantly different compared to Croatian average, but composition of population by its education is significantly worse than in Croatia generally. Also, during the research, it is defined the high level of correlation between a density of touristic apartmanes and a distance from the seaside. This definition leads to a conclusion that rural tourism in Omiš Hinterland is still its initial fase.
