Abstract

Croatia, as a country in transition, in all ostatkog lags behind the developed parts of Europe, including the application of renewable energy sources, although it has great potential, especially when it comes to solar power and biomass. The adoption of these energy sources in the domestic economy at the very beginnings and as such expected development. The development of this sector will have many positive effects such as reducing pollution and cleaner environment for living, reduce unemployment, accelerate economic growth and economic recovery, fostering innovation and reducing energy dependency on energy imports. Various strategies enacted by the European Union and Croatia and include it in this way and are forced to keep up with other states in increasing the use of solar energy and biomass energy. Various legal frameworks need to create a precondition for easier reach their goals
