Abstract

The Makarska littoral is one of the most important and valuable touristic regions of Croatia. It's status is deserved most of all because of its natural beauty that is comes from pebble beaches and grand mountain range, also a Natural park, called Biokovo. The value of Makarska littoral can be meassured in statistical reports of touristic traffic, which is in constant growth. Tradition of tourism in the area made a big impact on spatial planning. Tourism as an economy started before first spatial plans were made. Because of that plans that were made in every of its aspects include development of tourism, which has become the strongest economy in the area.
