Hum na Sutli municipality is located in national border area of Hrvatsko zagorje, surrounded by several locations marked as rural areas of questionable demographic sustainability. However, as a result of long tradition of glass-producing-industry, with recent foreign investments in old factory called ‘’Straža’’ and related clustering and specialization processes, we are looking at specific industrial impact on development indicators, as well as social, economic and physiognomic spatial changes. Comparing physiographic predispositions and social factors of particular area, considering parameters like glass-industry evolution, industrial impact on local population, clustering of related crafts, and looking at development strategy plans, worker registers, and population censuses, including analysis of outcome economic and social changes, this work is trying to recognize industrial specialization impact on development of Hum na Sutli municipalitiy.
