Human genetic variation is the genetic differences both within and among populations. The development of the genome sequencing and the methods of sequence analysis have made the investigation of human genetic variation more accurate than ever before. There are multiple types of genetic variation but most common classification contains single nucleotide polymorphisms and structural variants. The study of human genetic variation has both evolutionary significance and medical applications.
