Abstract

Maksimir Park with its microclimate stands out from the surrounding urban area characterized by over-construction, which results with effect of heat island. Based on the installed Temperature and Relative Humidity Data Loggers measurement results it is created analysis of microclimate in the Park. It is a large-scale environment with a respectable green and blue infrastructure in density urban space, which allows more favorable thermal conditions in summer in relation to surrounding urban space. Depending on characteristics it represents "park cool island", especially its core that provides a temperature comfort in relation to its surroundings, during unfavorable summer heat. Protection from the noise produced primarily by traffic, also is proven through research. Noise measurement is conducted using sound level meter. Based on the results of the measurements it can be concluded that the interior of the park is protected from the noise of traffic, mostly due dense and high vegetation cover (forest area).
