Abstract

The paper describes how the application of GIS applications in tourism can be a quick and efficient way to get quality and reliable results, but also it is a way to get the patterns needed for a further analysis of the tourism development of a given area. For purposes of paper thesis, it was used PPDAC method that consists of 5 phases: problem definition and the definition of desired results, designing the plan of work, data collection, analysis and presentation of information. Following results were obtained: an geodatabase, reliable results obtained with regularly used tools of spatial analysis and application functions. Geodatabase was created which consists of five datasets, and with comparative analysis of the collected data and calculated values of morphometric parameters following tourist attractive places were obtained: mountain points and points of view, polygons for takeoff and landing, cycling and hiking routes and other infrastructure. Finally, the application function was created that will speed up the process of the analysis of other tourist areas.
